As
many of you know, our focus has always been providing excellent technical
education surrounding all thing Microsoft UC. When Microsoft Teams was
announced, we made the decision to re-brand to cover that service. For
the last two years, the “Skype & Microsoft Teams Users Group” has continued
to flourish with vast amounts of new content that we have shared with over 96
meetings across the U.S. in 24 cities.
Now, we feel it’s time for another re-brand.
As of today, we will now be dropping “Skype” from our name and officially be
known as the “Microsoft Teams Users Group.” Our feedback from members has
shown us that the increase in demand of Microsoft Teams content and training is
not slowing down, but increasing monthly. Our newer members who are
finding us across different locations are joining solely to learn more about
Microsoft Teams integration, new features, UC, and collaboration features.
What does that mean for you? There’s no change in the way we operate or
the deep level of content that we will provide each and every quarter moving
forward. We will still focus on the UC features that established the
group back in 2010, but will expand into other parts of the Microsoft Teams
feature-set to provide a full breadth of education across the service.
For those still on Skype for Business, don’t worry! There is still plans
to cover features and migration strategies to Microsoft Teams as they are made
available.
It’s been nine years since Kevin and I founded the original group and this is
the most excited I’ve been about our trajectory of the Microsoft Teams
UG. With the assistance of Microsoft, our fabulous sponsors, and your
participation, I feel that we can continue to grow and mature the largest
Microsoft Teams user group on the planet.
Thanks everyone!
